The Goliath Birdeater is recorded as the largest spider on earth, a real monster that can grow to an amazing 11 inches leg span or more.  At over 5 ounces you can almost hear it coming it's so heavy.  It is certainly not for beginners as it is also fast and very aggressive. The normal terrestrial set up is required, just bigger!  This massive creature is a truly formidable animal and should be treated with the respect it deserves.  Size + aggression + speed = Don't mess with it!  It feeds well and will happily tackle prey such as birds and small mammals when grown.  Pop it in the run along with your neighbour's hamster, guinea pig or small rabbit should you feel mischievous and watch the fur fly.  Much more fun than boiling bunnies!  They are aggressive and will adopt a threat posture if disturbed and will kick off particularly potent urticating hairs and/or bite with little provocation.  Did I mention they are very aggressive?  Well they certainly are.
