All the Baboon tarantulas are aggressive beasts and quite fast, so definitely not recommended for beginners. They are terrestrial and will burrow extensively if given deep enough substrate. They are not very good display spiders as they tend to spend most of their time in the burrow or occasionally sitting at the entrance. These species require very little humidity, so only a shallow water dish need be provided. With the exception of C. crawshayi Baboons do not grow particularly large but make up for it with a mighty big attitude. They are aggressive and will adopt a threat posture and stridulate vigorously (hiss) if disturbed. They will also bite with little provocation. They feed well and grow fast. Did I mention they are very aggressive? Well they certainly are. | ||
